The SCA is committed to ensuring that all coaches-in-training begin their certification journey with a strong foundation in safety and coaching best practices. The Introduction to Coaching Exam is the first step in this process and is required for all CITs.

By completing this exam, you will demonstrate your understanding of the core principles of coaching and prepare yourself for future certification requirements as you progress.

Registration is FREE for all Coaches-in-Training (CITs) and coaches with a current SCA membership.

The Introduction to Coaching exam is required for all CITs.
The exam is timed at 120 minutes and you will have three attempts to pass.
Once you register, you will receive an email from the SCA with instructions and an access code to complete the exam.

Important Notes

All CITs must successfully complete this exam.
Exams must be completed independently. Certification is awarded to individuals, not coaching pairs or groups, so we know each coach is personally equipped to coach safely and effectively.
